Sunday, September 13th kicked off our fall schedule with a great Rally Day
celebration following the ELCA theme "My
Word!!! The Bible for Every One." The emphasis for the
entire year parallels the Book of Faith Initiative
which encourages and challenges all members of the ELCA to commit to more
faithful study of the scriptures and an increased willingness to participate
in Christian dialogue. Our morning began with a Cross Generational Event
during our 9:00am Sunday School hour which included three craft rotations and
one relay race station. Our Puppet Ministry was in top form as our puppeteers
presented the skit "A Bible on my Eyelid" which featured Martin
Luther in a 21st century library trying to adapt to the Bible being on an ipod
application. Worship returned to its 10:30am time and was led by our youth.
During the service, each child received a special blessing affirming their
importance in this world as a child of God. Following worship, we did what
Lutheran's love to do........fellowship....which is another way of saying we
had a potluck lunch. As you can see by the photos, it was an exciting day and
everyone had a great time. Thanks to everyone who worked so hard to make all
of the events special.
